We’ll be there from 7-9p.m. to chat, answer questions, and enjoy some skating and snacks! Look for New Skater Coordinator, BA, flying around the track with her long blonde ponytail catching wind behind her! We will talk about our league and demo some skills and drills. We welcome ALL individuals of all skill levels, shapes, sizes and backgrounds!

*Skate Rentals are $8 for those that don't bring their own.

Bay State Brawlers Roller Derby offers a new skater class that runs for 8 weeks (16 classes,) and is designed to bring skaters up to a full-contact skill level.

We will teach you everything from skating basics, to proper falling, stopping, and hitting. No previous skating experience is required! Just bring your enthusiasm and protective gear, well help you with the rest.

There are only 25 spots in this class for skaters and skating officials, and we book first come first serve, so space is limited.

Bay State league practices run twice a week, on Wednesdays from 8:00-10:00 PM and Sundays from either 5:30-7:30 PM or 10:30AM-12:30PM, at Roll On America, 90 Duval Rd, Lancaster, MA. (Sunday practice times are variable and subject to change.) Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to practices to get geared-up, as on-track practice begins promptly. You must be 18 or older and identify as female to join the league as a skater, however, anyone is welcome to participate in our New Skater Class, as there are many ways to be involved in derby, from skating officials to coaches and trainers, to non-skating officials.

Required items to attend the first new skater class:

- A copy of your drivers license or state ID,
- Your insurance card (health care coverage is required,)
- Your gear, including: helmet, mouth guard, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards,
- Quad roller skates.

*All of the gear you need can be purchased locally from our sponsor, the Bruised Boutique, in Nashua New Hampshire. Mention you're a new skater and they will hook you up!

By your second class, you will need to purchase additional insurance through the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) website. (Rate may be subject to change, but was $70 in 2017 and prorated for classes beginning later in the year.) All individuals who skate with us are required to carry this insurance.

We look forward to skating with you!
