Transfers and Visitors

We love guest skaters!Just moved to Central Massachusetts and looking for a new league? Traveling through the area and want to pop in on a practice or scrimmage? “Retired,” but missing derby and looking for a challenging but fun workout? We’ve got you covered.

Guest skaters are welcome at most of our practices, just drop us a line (and check out the “nitty gritty,” below,) so we know you’re coming.

Transfer skaters and officials are accepted on a rolling basis and are transitioned into league/team practices on an individual basis by our training team.

Our retired skaters program is a great way to get your derby “fix,” while getting in a sweat. Single practices are just $5 each!

“I know it may seem like a rough sport, but it’s really great exercise, and a whole lot of fun. We value hard work, open competition, and fun. There’s a place for everyone.”

The Nitty Gritty:

Bay State league practices run twice a week, on Wednesdays from 8:00-10:00 PM and Sundays from 5:30-7:30 PM, at Roll On America, 90 Duval Rd, Lancaster, MA.  Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to practices to get geared-up, as “on-track” practice begins promptly. Visiting guest practices are just $5 each, due at the beginning of each practice (cash or check).

To attend a practice or scrimmage, visiting skaters and skating officials are required to:

  • contact our Training Committee Chairs in advance (info@baystatebrawlers.com,)
  • sign a liability waiver,
  • have heath insurance and WFTDA or equivalent skater insurance,
  • bring full safety gear (helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards- which we have in limited numbers for loan- and a mouth guard.)

Want to get more involved in derby, but not sure getting on roller skates is quite your jam? Think about becoming a Non-Skating Official, or NSO. Those folks in black shirts are the backbone of every single bout. Learn more here.
